NJ sheriff Facecrook site
NJ sheriff Facecrook site, Sheriff Michael Saudino's office announced the launch of an online application that allows residents to track fugitive criminals on its website.
In a statement released Tuesday, Saudino said that the application — which has been coined "FaceCrook" — was developed in response to ongoing budget issues.
The website is linked to the office's records database, which is updated as law enforcement gathers more information on a case.
The first application of its kind in New Jersey, according to the department, the application lists active warrants in the county, along with pictures of the fugitive and a link to an interactive map showing where they were last seen.
The site also features an anonymous tip tool that enables citizens to report new sightings.
"These fugitives live in our communities; people see them and are none the wiser that they are wanted individuals," Saudino said. "'Facecrook' gives the public information on what these fugitives look like and data on where they might be living or working."
