Led Zeppelin celebration day,Led Zeppelin have announced that they will be releasing audio and video from their 2007 reunion show at London’s O2 Arena.
Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham’s son Jason Bonahm played a two-hour, 16-song tribute show in memory of their late friend and record executive Ahmet Ertegun. It was the band’s first live performance in 27 years, and the 18,000 fans that attended were selected from a worldwide lottery of 20 million people who applied for tickets.
The announcement comes after days of days of a mysterious countdown on the band’s Facebook page. Several speculated that the countdown was indeed leading up to an announcement of intentions to release footage of the 2007 Ertegun tribut concert.
Coming with the announcement is additional news that Led Zeppelin have been selected as one of the recepients of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors, which they will receive Dec. 2 in Washington D.C.
The Celebration Day film will be released in theaters Oct. 17, with tickets going on sale Sept. 13 via Led Zeppelin’s website. The concert will be available to purchase in a number of video and audio formats on Nov. 19.
