Comic-Con and twilight fan death
Comic-Con and twilight fan death,At the 2012 Comic-Con event in San Diego, the death of a "Twilight" fan shocked those in line at the popular event. Gisela Gagliardi was killed by a vehicle as she raced back to get in line with other Twi-hard fans. Attendees in line were shaken after she was struck and killed.
Tuesday, U-T San Diego reported that 53-year-old Gagliardi (shown in this photo with Robert Pattinson) was on foot running in a crosswalk while the light was red.
Reportedly, she was trying to return to the convention center at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con event just before her death. Sources say the line had just moved.
Like other "Twilight" fans, she was camped out for two days to get a good spot in line for the opening day.
Suddenly, the 67-year-old driver of a Subaru Outback struck the woman, who appeared to have stumbled just before impact. No other pedestrians were in the crosswalk with her at the time.
Suffering from head wounds, she was transported to a local hospital. However, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police questioned the driver, but he was not charged in the unfortunate accident.
"It is with tremendous sadness that we offer our heartfelt condolences. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved in this tragic incident."
Those who knew Gisela Gagliardi said she was a die-hard "Twilight" fan. She was in line since Sunday to see "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" set, which includes a panel of actors in the movie, a question and answer session and exclusive footage from the film.
