Baseball cards attic millions
Baseball cards attic millions,Baseball cards found in Ohio could fetch millions of dollars for one lucky family. According to Yahoo! News, descendents of Carl Hench found about 700 baseball cards in his attic. After he passed away in the 40's his daughter lived in the home. It wasn't until after she passed away that the family cleaned out the estate and basically hit the lottery in an instant. On July 10, it was reported that the cards are being put up for auction and could make the family extremely wealthy.
One card, the Honus Wagner card, is currently up for auction and is already at $55,000. The auction is not ending until August, giving the card a fair chance at a serious home run.
The Ohio baseball cards include Ty Cobb, Cy Young, and Christy Mathewson, all said to be in impeccable condition. When Karl Kissner found the box that contained the little treasures, he put them in a safe place while he and the rest of the family continued cleaning out the house. Once things settled down a bit, he got the cards appraised. Much to his surprise—and the surprise of others—the cards were worth a lot more than a couple of tickets to the ballpark.
"It's like finding the Mona Lisa in the attic," Kissner said. And boy is he right.
The Ohio baseball cards could fetch even more than the estimated $3 million that they are worth. Needless to say, the Kissner family won't be going hungry anytime soon.
