Holmes Victim Mother Sue, Holmes Victim Mother Sue, A mother whose daughter was among the 12 killed in the Aurora shooting on July 20 is expected to sue the movie theater where the attack occurred, according to a report. TMZ is citing sources who claim Shirley Wygal, the mother of slain 32-year-old Rebecca Wingo, “believes the theater’s exit doors should have been alarmed, or there should have been security guards posted next to them for a premiere as anticipated as ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’”
The media outlet reported that Wygal is in the process of retaining a lawyer in Los Angeles.
Police said suspected gunman James E. Holmes entered the midnight movie premiere armed and undetected from emergency exit doors in the front of the theater. Century 16 cinemas said the theater sometimes employed security guards to man the door, but chose not to have those guards on hand on the night of the attack.
This is the second reported lawsuit that has come about in the wake of the tragedy. Torrence Brown, Jr., who was uninjured but in the theater that Holmes attacked, is suing the movie theater along with Warner Bros. and Holmes’ doctors.
